On Saturday 26 May 2019, a team from Chambers ran the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10K in aid of our charity of the year, The Haven Wolverhampton.

The team of four, comprising Chris O’Gorman, Chris Quinn, Faye Edwards and Grace Wright raised over £1,000 from sponsorship which will go towards supporting The Haven’s valuable work in the local area with vulnerable women and children.

The 2019 Great Birmingham 10K involved a challenging redesigned route, with more than 7,000 participants weaving their way through the City Centre and past some of Birmingham’s most iconic landmarks before heading out along the A34 to Perry Barr. The finish line this year was inside Aston University and all four members of the Cornwall Street team recorded impressive personal performances as they crossed the line.

The team entered the popular ENGIE Business Challenge which sees a multitude of teams from a variety of business sectors in the Midlands compete for the fastest combined time with prizes awarded for winning teams in each business category (small business, medium business and large business). With a combined time of 3 hours 32 minutes, Cornwall Street achieved second place in the competitive Medium Business Mixed Category.

Chambers Manager, James Farmer said “We are very proud of team for tackling this fantastic local challenge to raise funds for The Haven and the crucial work they do within our local community. It is absolutely amazing how much they have raised and achieving second place against other medium sized businesses puts our business on the running map”.
