How to Apply

We are committed to being able to support those who are interested in a career at the Bar by being able to offer up to 12 unfunded mini-pupillages a year for a period of 3 days. Applications are encouraged from those who are at undergraduate or post-graduate level.

Applications are welcome at any time throughout the year but will be kept on file and considered quarterly. In assessing candidates for Mini-Pupillage, a Member of the Recruitment Committee will consider the intellectual achievement, motivation for a career at the Bar and interest in Chambers of the applicant together with the written communication skills demonstrated by the CV and covering letter. In the event of two or more suitable candidates applying for the same available time, preference will be given to candidates without previous mini-pupillage experience.

In light of recent Government advice regarding COVID-19 we are still accepting applications but will not be offering any Mini-Pupillages until current restrictions are lifted.

Applicants should email the Chambers Director, James Farmer, at,  including ‘Mini-Pupillage’ in the subject line.

Applicants should attach a CV together with a covering letter explaining what areas of Law they are interested in and why they want to do a Mini-Pupillage at Cornwall Street Barristers.

They should also include details of their availability for the following 12 months and be sure to include which of our offices they are hoping to complete their Mini-Pupillage at.
