The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has revealed their shortlist for their sixth annual “Future Faces” awards celebrating the rising stars of Birmingham’s business community. Cornwall Street Barristers are delighted to announce that the shortlist includes our Chambers Director, James Farmer.

The competition is open to anyone under the age of 35 and the “Future Face of 2020“ will be chosen from the individual category winners. He or she will receive a place on a fully-funded MBA course at Aston University.

On learning he had been shortlisted, James said:

“I am truly honoured and thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award, especially alongside other great candidates from Irwin Mitchell, Pinsent Masons, and Barker Brettell. I wish them all well and the very best of luck in the competition.

Cornwall Street Barristers have grown from strength to strength over the last couple of years, with substantial increases in turnover and in membership – despite three appointments to the full-time Bench. Our members continue to develop practices in new areas of law and we take great pride in the support and encouragement we are able to give them: we want their professional lives to grow in the directions that they would wish. We are also proud to be collegiate, supportive and forward-thinking as we expand our links with others in the wider world of Solicitors, the Bar and beyond.

I am extremely proud to work for this amazing set, my working environment and our members and staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure Chambers weathers the Covid-19 storm that is upon us.”

Andrew Tucker, Head of Cornwall Street Barristers said:

“It has been fascinating to watch James develop into his current role, the growth in his confidence and the sure-footed guidance he provides to Chambers management. He is a man of ideas and leadership who would be a worthy ‘Future Face’ winner against strong competition. All at Cornwall Street will be cheering him on!”
