Cornwall Street professional discipline specialist Jonathan Storey, instructed by Lynne Hardy of the National Education Union, has this week secured the acquittal of a teacher charged by his regulator with historic sexual abuse against a pupil at his school.
Jonathan’s client, a teacher from the North East of England, faced a single allegation of a protracted and serious sexual assault against a vulnerable 16 year old pupil dating back more than 25 years.
After a three day hearing convened by the Teaching Regulation Agency, which included live witness evidence from the complainant and accused teacher, a professional conduct panel found the allegation not proved.
