Prosecutors claim that two ‘predatory males deliberately took advantage’ of their female victim who had downed 12 shots that night as well as a jug of Long Island Ice Tea earlier in the night.
Jonathan Coode, defending one of the men, argued that the encounter had in fact been consensual.
The jury deliberated for almost 15 hours at Oxford Crown Court before both men were acquitted. This case has been reported in the BBC (here) and Oxford Mail (here).
