Cornwall Street Barristers’ Civil Team are pleased to launch their Enforcement Group.
As you may be aware, enforcement proceedings are in “Priority list 1” produced by HMCTS for civil litigation and should therefore continue, save for bailiff matters, during this period of unprecedented upheaval. Our Civil Team, which includes Michael Trevelyan, called in 2008, and Rebecca Keeves, called in 2010, who are leading on this initiative, are perfectly placed to assist in such matters because of their extensive experience dealing with the full breadth of enforcement proceedings.
The team are able to deal with any hearings relating to the enforcement of judgments and orders remotely, whether by video link or by telephone.
We understand that at this time Solicitors may be unable to attend these hearings themselves and wish instead to focus their energies on other areas such as business continuity and reassuring clients who may require additional support. By instructing our team, you can be confident that your case will be dealt with to the highest standard, with the benefit of knowing exactly who you are instructing and the quality of advocacy that you will receive.
In the spirit of working together and acknowledging the importance of keeping the justice system active, the team have instructed their clerks to accept instructions in the following matters, with a preferential fixed-fee structure during this period of uncertainty:
- Enforcement proceedings; and
- Applications to stay proceedings listed for 30 minutes or less.
The team are also available for telephone conferences and written work which will be completed in a short period and some members are also able to accept work on a direct access basis.
