Two members of Cornwall Street Barristers were instructed in one of the first hybrid contested hearings to take place at Worcester Family Court.

Naomi Dean, representing the mother, and Grace Wright, representing the father, acted in a complex fact-finding hearing in long running private children’s proceedings. The three day hearing involved cross allegations of sexual abuse to a minor and parental alienation as well as the cross-examination of a medical witness.

Whilst Naomi and Grace attended court personally together with their clients, technology was utilised to enable other witnesses to participate remotely in the hearing. Whilst two witnesses gave evidence in person, Grace and Naomi cross examined three witnesses via Skype. Cameras were set up to provide multi-angle images of the Court to those attending on Skype. Overall, despite being one of the first hearings of its kind, the contested hearing was a success.
