Cornwall Street Barristers are sad to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, James Farmer, will be leaving Chambers after a period of handover.

James has modernised the working practices of Chambers during his tenure, which has allowed us to expand by attracting new members, including a number of silks, and merge with another Set in Maidstone. Cornwall Street Barristers has grown significantly under James’s guidance as our Chief Executive Officer and he leaves us in a position of strength ready to face whatever comes our way.

James said:

“It has been an honour and a privilege to work for Chambers over the last seven years.
During the period of my tenure, Chambers’ profile and reputation has grown to an extent that it now boasts a marked increase in membership and of fee income for members.

The strategy implemented over the years has resulted in Chambers being in the position that it is able to make investments in its future in the face of increased competition and an everchanging legal services market.

None of Chambers’ successes would have been possible without the unwavering support of members and staff who I will miss dearly but who I am eternally grateful to.

I will be spending some time with my family as we look forward to welcoming our second child in January before I embark on new and exciting challenges, whatever they may be.”

The Members and Staff at Cornwall Street Barristers wish James and his family every success in the future.
