Chris O’Gorman, Barrister at Cornwall Street Barristers took on The Great North Run on 12th September to support a charity very close to his heart, The Stroke Association.
The Stroke Association offers support to people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives. Rebuilding lives after a stroke is a team effort. It takes the determination of stroke survivors and carers, the generosity of supporters and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities to get there.
Speaking of his challenge, Chris O’Gorman commented: “Well, I managed to get round what has been described by many as “a tough course”, and in a respectable time. I spent the rest of Sunday lying in the back of the car trying to keep my leg straight to ease the knee discomfort but it was absolutely worth it to remember my loved ones who have been affected by a stroke. I want to say a huge thank you to all who donated to my fundraising cause, you have been so kind and to date I have raised an amazing £2407.”
