Cornwall Street’s Jonathan Storey (instructed by Katharine Millard of the National Association of Headteachers) has this week secured the career of a former headteacher from the North East of England charged with an unprecedentedly large number of allegations of safeguarding failings, management and supervision failings, dishonesty, and discrimination against pupils with special educational needs.

After an 11 day hearing convened by the Teaching Regulation Agency, including 12 live witnesses, the professional conduct panel concluded that only a small minority of the allegations against Jonathan’s client were proved. These did not include the most serious and, while the panel was satisfied that some of them met the threshold for unacceptable professional conduct, it concluded that it was not appropriate for Jonathan’s client to be prohibited from teaching.

Jonathan is a specialist practitioner in the field of professional discipline and is particularly well known for his work with teachers and school leaders. Please see his profile for further information.
