Peter Glenser KC and Matthew Bolt successfully defend 18 year old Treyvon Ejiogu from East London accused of murder in Swindon in October 2021 when he was aged just 17.

The defendant had travelled to Swindon as part of a county lines operation with two friends to deal Class A drugs. Whilst in Swindon they learned that someone was intending to rob them, leading the defendant to arm himself with a kitchen knife. The next morning the defendant and his two friends were confronted by Lee Turner who had recently described himself to a probation officer as ‘a professional robber of drug dealers’ and who was armed with at least one pair of matched knives and possibly a Stanley knife. The defendant was confronted by Turner and stabbed him once fatally in the chest. Extraordinarily, the confrontation was accidentally recorded on Turner’s mobile telephone.

The defendant had previously pleased guilty to possession of a bladed article and being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine. His Honour Judge Hart was persuaded to impose a suspended sentence in relation to these matters.
