Gurpreet Rheel secures the acquittal of a headteacher facing allegations of bullying and threatening staff
Cornwall Street Barristers’ Gurpreet Rheel has helped preserve the career of a headteacher who faced being struck off for serious allegations involving threatening and bullying several staff members, failing to carry out safeguarding duties and follow behavioural policies which it was alleged, led to a teacher being stabbed by a student.
The TRA called a number of witnesses to support its case. At the end of a seven day hearing which involved the careful cross examination of all of the TRA witnesses and making thorough closing submissions to draw out the inconsistencies in the TRA case, the panel found that the allegations were not made out. The teacher was deemed a credible and reliable witness. As such, no findings were made that the teacher had acted in a way which required further input by the panel to determine any form of sanction.
