Faye Edwards completed the Chester Marathon on 3rd October to raise funds for a small UK cancer charity, Mesothelioma UK, after losing her father to the illness during university. Mesothelioma, at present remains a terminal cancer with little treatment available.
Mesothelioma UK is a national specialist resource centre, specifically for the asbestos-related cancer mesothelioma. The charity is dedicated to providing specialist mesothelioma information, support and education, and to improving care and treatment for all UK mesothelioma patients and their carers.
Speaking of her challenge, Faye said: “I’m so proud of myself for completing my first full marathon, it was certainly one of the hardest things I’ve ever trained for. The charity are a wonderful organisation so I’d be really grateful for any small donation to support my efforts in this marathon and in turn, support so many other people out there struggling with this rare cancer and it’s devasting aftermath.”
