Background

Emma joins Cornwall Street after the successful completion of the Bar Professional Training Course at City Law School, London where she received a Very Competent classification.

Prior to this, Emma completed a BA (Joint) Honours in English Literature and Film Studies at the University of Southampton and a Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law, London.

Before starting pupillage and alongside her legal studies, Emma worked as a commercial litigation paralegal in silver circle and American Law firms in London where she assisted with high-value civil litigation and arbitration.  She has assisted in preparation for hearings at all levels from the County Court to Supreme Court appeals and has supported solicitors and instructed counsel on a wide range of matters including commercial, professional negligence, insolvency, defamation, contentious probate, white-collar crime, private prosecutions and civil fraud claims; providing her with a wide range of interests and experiences.

In addition to her roles within law firms, Emma has also worked in-house at a global investment bank and in investigation teams at financial and healthcare regulators.

Before commencing her career in law, Emma had a successful career in fundraising and campaigning for a number of national charities.
