Background
Raymond was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1973. He acted as a Stipendiary Magistrate between 1989 and 1995, in which latter year he obtained his Higher Rights of Audience.
After prosecuting crime for Thames Valley, West Yorkshire & West Midlands Police, he jointly established a successful criminal & child care practice, & after 21 years transferred to the Bar to concentrate exclusively on children’s matters. He joined present chambers in 2006 on their move from No. 6 Fountain Court to Cornwall Street.

Raymond specialises in public law child care cases in which he has extensive experience. He was a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel for 10 years, following its inception and until his move to the Bar in 2004.
Notable Cases:
Re ABC (Children: Overlaying Child) [2020] EWFC 57 – children returned to care of mother following co-sleeping infant death.
CW v NT & Another [2011] EWHC 33 – Informal surrogacy: welfare.

Raymond has undergone extensive training and is now accepting instructions in court of protection matters.
