Background

Imogen has a broad civil and criminal practice. Her civil work currently spans TOLATA, contract, personal injury and road traffic matters. Regarding criminal work, Imogen appears predominantly in the Crown Court where she defends and prosecutes.

Her work is primarily located across London, Kent, Essex and Sussex. Imogen also accepts work across the West Midlands.
Imogen now sits on the management committee within Chambers, as Representative of the Kent annex. She was accepted as a member of Chambers in October 2025, having completed her pupillage with Cornwall Street.

Imogen received a Major Exhibition Award (scholarship) from The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple to complete both her legal conversion degree, and the Bar Course. Imogen also received the Academic Excellence Award from City Law School (where she completed the conversion course); an Education Scholarship from the Yorkshire Ladies Council of Education; and the Career Changer Scholarship from the University of Law (where she completed the Bar Course).

Imogen was selected in 2023 to represent the University of Law in Paris at the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, reaching the semi-finals.

During her legal studies, Imogen represented individuals at their appeal hearings in the Social Security and Child Support Tribunal. She also volunteered as a Telephone Advisor with Citizens Advice and taught school children how to identify sexual consent with the Schools Consent Project.

Before commencing her final year of training with Cornwall Street Barristers, Imogen worked as a Data Protection Paralegal for Lambeth Council, London. Here, she handled papers from childcare proceedings.

Prior to a career at the Bar, Imogen obtained a Master’s (MSt) in Musicology from St Catherine’s College, Oxford in 2018. She studied her undergraduate (BMus) degree at King’s College London where she secured a three-year scholarship for vocal training at the Royal Academy of Music.

Imogen worked as an Artistic Opera Director and Assistant Director for three years in the opera and film industries before training as a barrister.

In her spare time, Imogen writes about legal developments and updates in consumer regulation and environmental law on her private blog, which can be found here. She is a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers (ARDL) and the Planning and Environment Bar Association (PEBA).

Highlights

Imogen has had success in the Magistrates’ Court securing indirect contact for parents whilst parties await the conclusion of proceedings, despite CAFCASS Officers recommending no form of contact whatsoever.

Imogen secured a suspended sentence order for a prison officer convicted of misconduct in public office, by highlighting the exceptional circumstances of the case.
