Holly-Louise Kilbey

Background

Holly joined Chambers in January 2019 having completed pupillage in London at Church Court Chambers. Whilst practising in London, Holly was awarded a Middle Temple Pupillage Grant and was also instructed as independent counsel to the Serious Fraud Office conducting disclosure reviews.

Prior to joining the Bar Holly gained significant experience working in the financial sector, both in the UK and the Middle East for firms such as Clyde & Co and Citibank. As such she brings with her a high level of commercial awareness as well as a working knowledge of banking procedures.

She is described as a committed and resourceful advocate who has a personable and friendly approach to her clients.

Crime

Holly is developing a busy criminal practice defending a wide spectrum of offences in the Crown Court and Magistrates Court. This includes appearing in cases involving road traffic offences, sexual offences, drugs, dishonesty and confiscation proceedings. She has experience in representing youths and those with mental health issues. In particular Holly has developed an interest in defending cases prosecuted under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Civil

Holly has gained experience of housing repossession hearings and, prior to starting her career at the bar, spent two years assessing consequential loss claims for small businesses who had been mis sold interest rate hedging products by high street banks.

Since then she has gained experience of representing clients in small claims matters involving RTA and Credit Hire and is steadily growing her civil practice.
