Background
Dorothy has practised as a family law barrister for over 45 years. She is a tough negotiator and a talented advocate with significant experience.
Dorothy has an extensive knowledge of family law – and her sensitivity and empathy means she is well regarded by clients, who she has the ability to build a significant rapport with.
She is experienced in all areas of public and private law children cases, including: Child Arrangement Orders; domestic abuse; child sexual abuse and non-accidental injury and international child relocation.
Dorothy has equally extensive experience in all types of financial remedy cases – and has acted on cases with assets ranging from millions of pounds to modest assets, as well as trust law cases, including TOLATA.

Dorothy’s expertise
Family
Dorothy acts in all areas of public and private law, in applications in the High Court and Family Courts. She is experienced in child abduction, wardship, Hague Convention, residence and contact, care proceedings and adoption.
Dorothy also specialises in all aspects of financial remedy. She advises and represents parties in resolving the financial consequences of divorce and breakdown of cohabitation. Her extensive experience includes “big money” cases, constructive and resulting trusts, farming and other businesses. She acts in matters concerning the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996, Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, family provision on death, injunctions and undertakings, Family Law Act 1996 and Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
