Kellie Enever successfully defends client in one of the biggest investigations into the alleged abuse of teenage Army Junior Soldiers.
Kellie represented Corporal Andrew Armitage, who was one of the ten defendants in the first of three Court Martial at Bulford, Wiltshire.
The proceedings were stayed at the close of the Crown’s case, after the Court heard the most extraordinary evidence given by the Officer in the Case.
Judge Advocate General, Alan Large stayed the proceedings against Cpl Armitage and four others after hearing legal arguments and subsequently ruling they could not receive a fair trial because of the failures of the service police to properly investigate. This followed on from the dismissal of other charges against five other defendants, earlier in the proceedings.
The consequence of this successful legal argument and the Judge’s ruling was to result in the prosecution subsequently offering no evidence against a further six instructors, due to go on trial next month.
