Following expert advice and representation from Cornwall Street’s Jonathan Storey, another school leader has been allowed to continue teaching following a hearing before a Professional Conduct Panel of the National College for Teaching and Leadership.
Although the panel found that her actions (which included a breach of professional boundaries and a failure properly to safeguard children) amounted to unacceptable professional conduct, they noted her “considerable insight and remorse into the seriousness of the allegations” and concluded that the “very strong” public interest in retaining her in the teaching profession outweighed other considerations that tended in favour of prohibition.
Jonathan Storey is one of a number of members of Cornwall Street Barristers with a specialist practice in the field of professional regulation, and with substantial experience of working with teachers and other professionals.
