Brief Career Details

Before being called to the Bar Katie gained significant experience in accounting. Upon being called to the Bar, she was employed as a tribunal worker for her local Advice Bureau, managing social security and employment tribunals. In addition, Katie gained a depth of experience in the insolvency process via her role as a debt adviser. She also spent time working in the legal department at BUPA where she dealt with corporate law and contract, in particular restrictive covenants, confidentiality and guarantee clauses.


Civil/Employment

Katie accepts instructions in a wide range of civil and commercial cases. She provides prompt written advice and strong advocacy throughout the litigation process in contractual disputes, debt recovery, landlord & tenant and property disputes. Katie enjoys all aspects of personal injury claims and credit hire claims and is able to draft pleadings and provide advices on evidence, liability and quantum. She has a particular interest and experience in employment law, for both Claimants and Respondents, and is keen to develop this area of her practice.


CFA instructions are accepted in appropriate cases..


Family

Katie accepts instructions in all areas of family law. She undertakes both public law childcare work, representing local authorities and parents, and private law childcare work. Further, she represents Defendants and Applicants in family law injunctions – non-molestation and occupation orders. Given her background in accounts, Katie has a keen interest in ancillary relief proceedings and financial and property disputes relating to unmarried couples.
